Brisbane Carpentry That Ends in a Finished Wall
Our carpenters build the frame, and the same team lines it, sets it and paints it. You end up with a finished wall, not a frame waiting for the next trade.
It works for the small stuff as well: one partition, a doorway moved, a few battens that have rotted out. One quote covers the timber, the plasterboard and the paint.
Carpentry for Brisbane Walls & Ceilings
From a couple of rotted battens to a new wall down the middle of a room.
New Stud Walls
Timber or steel stud walls to divide a room, make a study or close in an open space.
Ceiling Joists & Battens Replaced
Sagging or storm-damaged ceilings opened up and the joists and battens replaced before new sheets go up.
Doorways & Nib Walls
Doorways framed in, moved or closed over, plus nib walls built to suit the layout.
Bulkhead Framing
Frames built around ducting, pipes or new downlights, then lined with plasterboard.
Rotted & Termite Damaged Framing
Rotten or termite-eaten studs, plates and battens swapped out for sound timber before relining.
Lined, Set & Painted
When the carpentry is finished, our plasterers and painters take it from there.
Carpentry for Brisbane Homes and Businesses
Cutting timber and sanding plaster gets messy, so we put covers down first and clean the area at the end.
ResidentialHome Carpentry
Walls added, doorways moved, ceiling joists replaced and rotted framing fixed in Brisbane houses, townhouses and Queenslanders.
CommercialCommercial Carpentry
Stud partitions and bulkhead frames for offices and shops, lined and ready to paint.
Floors are covered before the cutting starts, and the room is swept and tidy when we go.
Plaster Finish Levels on New Walls
A straight frame gives you a flat wall. Once the plasterboard is on, AS/NZS 2589 sets the levels of finish, and we suggest one based on the room's light and the paint sheen.

Level 3: Basic finish on new walls
Joints and screw heads set. Enough for a garage, shed or storeroom.
Level 4: Standard finish on new walls
What most new walls in homes get, painted flat or low-sheen.
Most wallsLevel 5: Smoothest finish on new walls
A skim coat over everything, for gloss paint or walls with side light.

25+ Years of Carpentry and Plastering in Brisbane
Over 25 years in the trade. Every frame is checked straight before the sheets go on, because a bent stud shows straight through the paint.

Carpentry FAQs for Brisbane
What Brisbane homeowners ask us about carpentry and framing.
Questions about carpentry?
Ring us about the wall, ceiling or doorway you have in mind.
Call (07) 3064 0686What carpentry work do you take on in Brisbane?
Internal stud walls and partitions, doorways and nib walls, bulkhead framing, ceiling joist and batten replacement, and repairs to rotted or termite damaged framing. We then plaster and paint it.
Can you replace storm-damaged ceiling joists?
Yes. The ceiling is opened, the damaged joists and battens are replaced, and new plasterboard goes up, set and painted. If the framing is structural, we will say if an engineer or council approval is needed.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Brisbane Plaster Pro is QBCC licensed through MGH Contracting Pty Ltd (Licence No. 15576119) and All Paintworx Pty Ltd (Licence No. 15511709).
Will you clean up when the carpentry is finished?
Yes. Covers go over floors and furniture while we work, and the offcuts and plaster dust go with us when we leave.
Can you fix rotted or termite damaged framing?
Yes. We cut out the damaged timber and linings, replace them, then plaster and paint. Insurance repairs too.
